Gregory J. Murphy has joined Conn Kavanaugh as Senior Counsel. Greg focuses his practice on estate planning, tax planning and preparation, and estate and trust administration. Given his strong tax background, Greg also supports the firm’s Corporate/Transactional Group. Greg works with individuals and families to develop estate plans to meet their personal goals, preserve assets for descendants and other beneficiaries, and minimize estate taxes. Greg assists those who have lost a loved one by administering the estate of the decedent and providing guidance to the personal representative and family members. Greg advises high net worth clients and others on the implications of various transactions and explores alternatives to reducing tax liabilities. Greg prepares income tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, and other entities, and analyzes complex tax issues and reporting requirements to ensure proper compliance. From 2008-2011, Greg was selected to the SuperLawyers New England Rising Stars list in the practice area of tax law.
Greg graduated magna cum laude in 2006 from Suffolk University Law School. He received his bachelor's degree in 1998 from the College of the Holy Cross , where he was honored with the Presidential Service Award for his outstanding contribution and participation in various service activities during the course of his college career.
Greg is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant and prior to enrolling in law school, provided audit and tax services at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
