Michael T. Sullivan recently secured a verdict on behalf of a property owner in a commercial landlord-tenant case in Massachusetts Superior Court. The tenant unsuccessfully argued that, despite the absence of a current lease agreement, it should not be evicted from the property because of alleged assurances by the owner that the parties' expired lease would be extended. The court awarded to Mr. Sullivan's client possession of the property, unpaid rent, and attorney's fees.
